What are you looking for?
If you are looking for a 50/50 dominant marijuana strain that provokes creativity and still provides some magical pain relief then Banana Sherbet is the strain for you. The dominant terpene found in Banana Sherbet is Limonene which gives this strain its signature sour and citrus aromas. This is a very balanced hybrid strain crossing the genetics of Banana Kush and Sunset Sherbet.
In this article, I review Banana Sherbet weed from my local DC recreational dispensary, Puff Puff DC. I’ll go over the effects I felt, cosmetics, taste, aroma, and the total entourage effect taking a deep dive into the terpene and cannabinoids of this strain.
Banana Sherbet from Puff Puff DC Dispensary
Banana Sherbet is a limonene-dominant strain, and within the first bong rip you’ll feel a deep relaxation in the body/muscles and then a powerful head high that feels focused, inspired, and creative. The mental high creeps in fairly slowly, but it’s the perfect blend of body and head high with an overall uplifting mood. Overall this is a very mellow high.
Somehow the complex Indica genetics of this strain create a buzz that is more sativa-based but deeply focused. The Indica body high is amazing even for the daytime because it isn’t trying to pull you onto the couch or sleep. From body to head you’re just comfortable, happy, relaxed, and exploding with creative ideas. Another amazing strain for creativity is my personal favorite, the Wookies strain which is better suited for social settings when compared to Banana Sherbet.
Who this strain is for: If you are an artist, creator, or just need some motivation to get a project finished, Banana Sherbet is amazing for focus, creativity, and energy. The body high is strong but it’s not overwhelming depending on how experienced of a smoker you are. I wouldn’t recommend this for critical work tasks if you are new, but for the experienced smoker, this is a great strain for productive activities. For strains that are amazing for sleep, I recommend Cataract Kush strain.
The four dominant terpenes found in Banana Sherbet are Limonene, Bisabolol, Pinene, and Valencene. This unique combination of terpenes works hand in hand with cannabinoids such as THC and CBD synergistically to give Banana Sherbet its unique creative and focused effects that we come to love.
In this section, we break down the four primary terpenes found in Banana Sherbet and closely examine their potential effects. Keep in mind, that there is not enough research to understand fully just how much the terpenes in cannabis have an impact on our body.
Disclaimer: The terpene profile may vary depending on what medical dispensary you purchased your Banana Sherbet strain from. This section is meant to help you understand how the terpenes influence the effects of this strain, but more research is needed to understand fully how terpenes affect the body from consuming cannabis.

The most abundant terpene found in Banana Sherbet is Limonene. Limonene is believed to be an uplifting terpene that is capable of promoting a sense of euphoria, elevating moods, and reducing stress. What I loved the most about Banana Sherbet was the cerebral stimulation and creativity I felt, and that’s because Limonene is also believed to boost creativity.
The second most dominant terpene found in Banana Sherbet is Bisabolol. Early research suggests that this terpene can help slow the brain waves just enough to enter a creative flow of state. Smoking Banana Sherbet gave me the feeling that I unlocked my creative potential, and while more research is needed I believe it’s because of the two dominant terpenes Limonene and Bisabolol.
The best time to smoke Banana Sherbet is during the day or even in a social setting if you are an experienced smoker. The third and fourth most dominant terpenes Pinene and Valencene are believed to promote focus and energy, making this strain great for productive days. In this section, we take a closer look at the individual effects of these terpenes.
The third most abundant terpene found in Banana Sherbet is Pinene. Alpha Pinene is believed to improve cognitive function and memory which increases focus and alertness, all the while reducing anxiousness. What I loved about smoking Banana Sherbet was how the Indica body high was not overwhelming or sluggish because of how focused and clear I felt. The overall feeling of smoking this strain was a sense of calm and focus.
Valencene is the fourth most dominant terpene found in Banana Sherbet. While Valencene like most terpenes will not get you high it’s believed to synergize with cannabinoids such as THC to promote an energized feel. While more research is needed to understand the true potential of cannabis terpenes on the human body, in my experience smoking the Banana Sherbet strain I felt a nice spike in my energy levels that allowed me to be very productive.
The primary cannabinoids found in Banana Sherbet are THC, CBD, and CBG. Banana Sherbet has a very low concentration of CBD, making this more of a recreational strain as more of the psychoactive components of THC will be felt. CBG is abundant in Banana Sherbet which is believed to make patients feel energized and productive.
Overall there are two dominant terpenes and one dominant cannabinoid that are all believed to produce a feeling of productivity and energy, which is exactly what I felt when smoking this strain. I recommend Banana Sherbet to anyone looking for a strain for creative work such as artists and creators.

Banana Sheret is a limonene-dominant strain that tastes and smells very fruity, with a hint of sweet vanilla and sage that blends for a banana-like taste. When dabbing at low temperatures you can get a stronger sense of the banana flavors and notes. Overall the notes are sweet and you can get hints of some subtle nutty and earthy undertones.
