Here’s some of our favorite TerpHogz strains.

Review: Hindu Z

Hindu Z is a cross between (Hindu Kush x Zkittlez) originally bred by TerpHogz and is the perfect example of an Indica Landrace crossed to one of the most popular strains in the game. Among communities of cannabis connoisseurs, cultivators and breeders there’s a growing movement of taking the newest generation of genetics and crossing it back to some of the old landraces and heirlooms to make the gene pool at large truly sparkle. This hybrid is truly special bringing one of the most complex scents we’ve experienced as well as traits completely new to our repertoire.

Part of being able to give our readers great recommendations every week comes from our staff’s excellent recall of scents and flavors, but Hindu Zkittlez had complex traits we honestly have a difficult time describing. Appearance wise, Hindu Zkittlez is some of the densest nugs we’ve ever tried and also some of the most resinous. The scent is sort of like a tamarind candy, similar to a lot of Zkittlez crosses, but there’s also a good bit of mustiness and earthiness that kind of reminds us of Moroccan sift hash. Our favorite part of this experience was the effect which was potent enough to give us tunnel vision but a completely relaxing vibe with no anxious feelings. If you’re a smoker with an especially high tolerance, we highly recommend you pick up Hindu Z next time you see it on the shelf.

Review: The Original Z

Finding a good Zkittlez is always a genuine challenge, as the cut is supposedly very closely held. Thankfully, we found a great sample of Z that’s perfect for folks wanting to see what the hype is all about. The origins of the original Z are highly disputed, and even the creators of Z don’t agree on what it is. The one thing everyone agrees on though is that Z has captured the hearts and wallets of stoners and earned itself a spot in the Hall of Flame. This version that we have is textbook with its bulbous, dense bright green nugs, and that overall eye appeal (or lack thereof) that shows you’re dealing with the real Z and not one of the watered down versions, such as the Wonderland Nursery bagseed S. The newer versions often have a more defined nug structure and more purple undertones, but the consumption experience is worse overall.

Zkittlez was created by the collaborative effort known as 3rd Gen Family Farms and is a {Grapefruit Kush x Grape Ape} donor that pollinated an unknown clone-only receiver. Some speculations claim the clone was Key Lime Pie, some claim it was Dying Breed Seeds’ Gas Station Bob (Gas Pedal x OG Eddy Lepp), and TerpHogz’s Tony Mendo claims it was Sweet Tooth (Pink Grapefruit x Blueberry). Whatever the case, this particular sample of Z checked off every one of our boxes with excellent smoothness, a saturated grapefruit tamarind candy flavor, and powerful potency that will slump smokers of all experience levels. Z has been one of the most influential strains of the last five years, and we recommend readers who haven’t smoked it before to try it for the first time
