Maryland’s RYTHM brand has been around since the early days of its medical cannabis program and has successfully made the transition to the recreational market. Not surprising at all, since it’s one of many brands owned by industry heavyweight Green Thumb Industries. GTI has made itself into a market darling on the LinkedIn scene in the last couple years by roundly outperforming many of its competitors at making the other green we lust after, money.
RYTHM itself is marketed as a culture as much as a brand, putting on concerts with up-and-coming musicians and partnering with LGBTQIA+ organizations. Their product line includes flower, vapes, and concentrates and is available in several states across the East Coast (NY, NJ, MA, and PA just to name a few) and rapidly expanding West. Here’s what the Gentleman thinks of what we’ve smoked from RYTHM in Maryland so far.
Review: Animal Face Strain
The Animal Face strain, a cross of Face Off OG and Animal Mints, hails from Seed Junky Genetics. Once we broke open the seal on RYTHM’s jar, the scent wafted through the air like a mischievous tease, tantalizing our noses with a potent blend of mint and earthy herbs. It was like taking a deep breath in the middle of a mystical herb garden. Hints of sweet vanilla dance delicately alongside earthy undertones, creating a medley that’s both refreshing and inviting.
Once the flower is ground up, the aromatic spell weaves its way into your palate, the flavor profile of Animal Face comes alive, providing various flavor notes. The initial inhale reveals a fusion of minty freshness, reminiscent of indulging in a perfectly steeped herbal tea. This initial minty wave then gives way to an enchanting sweetness that enveloped our tongue. The smooth smoke leaves a pleasant aftertaste, with subtle hints of pine and a whisper of earthiness that lingers in the mouth. The high creeped up on us like a stealthy predator, starting with a euphoric buzz that brought out our giggly side. As the effects intensified, relaxation entered the chat, calming both body and mind. RYTHM’s Animal Face is a great strain to unwind after a long day, or let loose with friends while sharing some laughs and food.

Review: Frozen Margarita Strain
Frozen Margarita from RYTHM is better than your average Mimosa (pun intended) and will be much beloved by East Coast sativa fans. While the Frozen Margarita cross is somewhat disputed, online sources say it’s akin to throwing genetics from Sour Dubble, Fire OG, Triangle Kush, Chem D and Headband in a blender. The sample has scent and flavor notes of astringent exhaust fumes and the same burnt rubber cocoa back end you might find from your average Glue. The sample hits hard during a morning session with an energizing buzzy effect almost entirely felt above the neck.
After much hype about this strain over the last year and a half, this first experience trying Frozen Margarita from RYTHM brought smooth flavor and positive vibes to start my day. Wake and baking, or smoking in the morning, has become a widely accepted practice among stoners. Some people do it every day, some people only do it when they truly have nothing else to do that day. But whatever way waking and baking fits into your lifestyle, you must have the right strain for the experience, otherwise you might find yourself waking up groggy from a three-hour nap at 4:00 PM and miss your whole afternoon.
Review: L’Orange Strain
I picked up an eighth of RYTHM’s L’Orange strain at Story Cannabis, my closest dispensary. This strain is a cross between Oregon Lemon and Orange Crush. The citrusy notes are sharp and tangy, which made our taste buds tingle. As soon as you open the jar of L’Orange, you’ll be greeted with an aroma that’s reminiscent of freshly squeezed lemon juice with a hint of creamy sweetness. The structure of the nugs on L’Orange are compact. They are light green in color with bright yellow-orange pistils that illuminate the buds.
L’Orange’s effects don’t disappoint.. Midway through the joint, we felt a surge of focus which made it easy for us to finish this review and knock off other items off our to-do list. The high is uplifting and energizing, perfect for a daytime smoke. This smoke also brings a sense of happiness accompanied by a gentle and relaxing sensation without weighing you down. The giggles also come in hot with this strain. It is recommended to start with a low dosage and work your way up to find the perfect sweet spot. Not only is this toke bursting with flavor and potency but its assertive lemony taste and uplifting effects make it a strain that’s perfect for those who appreciate an uplifting smoke. So, grab a slice of L’Orange and let yourself indulge in this tasty and satisfying cannabis treat.
