Connected’s flower is widely regarded as some of the most elite production flower you can find in California, and Bad Apple is their latest foray into capturing the hearts and dollars of flavor chasers everywhere. Connected Cannabis made a name for themselves as the brains behind some of the highlights of Cookies’ indoor operations, producing staples such as Gelato 41, Biscotti, & Gushers until the collaboration ended in 2018. Now their alumni are establishing the most notable brands in California the same way SNL incubates comedy geniuses. They have three flagship dispensaries in the Golden State and their products can also be found in Arizona and Florida markets.
Review: Gelonade
Gelonade has been living rent free in many consumers’ heads since taking the 1st place Indoor Flower trophy from the 2021 Emerald Cup. It was a strong showing from Connected and Alien Labs because of the uplifting citrus scents and an effect that leaves users fried like morning omelets. This energizing lemon twist on one of the most iconic strains on the market (Gelato 41) from Green Kings is more of a weekend vibe than a weekday wake & bake. Crossing the Gelato 41 to Lemon Tree seamlessly blends the more pungent lemon & diesel notes with a more complex, robust tart candy Gelato flavor.
This batch of Gelonade is fresh, exhibits excellent resin development, and the buds are evenly green and purple. In a vaporizer, the flavor comes through in full force and the effects onset quite quickly. This strain stands out as an especially potent and cerebral sample that’s perfect for relaxing on a sunny morning and going with the flow the rest of the day.
Review: Biskante
If you haven’t heard of Alien Labs, you’ve been living under a rock. They are the R&D department for Connected Cannabis, and they’ve been responsible for a few of the most award-winning strains of the last few years. Their Kryptochronic and Melonade won big at Cannabis Cup Arizona in 2021, where they were voted the best brand in the state. They scored 3rd place for indoor flower with Biskante at Emerald Cup, which also took home Best Terps, 3rd place for Best Tasting and 3rd overall at Green Wolf’s inaugural Zalympix. Alien Labs has been up to something special for years now, and Biskante is the prime example of this, with a unique flavor, potent and uplifting effect, and enticing scent.

Biskante is a cross between (Biscotti x Melonade) and it’s one of the best instances of uplifting effects from sweet, gassy genetics. Right from smelling the nugs, it’s easy to tell from the extra notes of diesel and berry that this strain isn’t just a renamed Biscotti. Like most of the sweet and gassy samples that come from California, this was predictably potent and the effect lasted a couple of hours. It’s easy to see why this has become a fan and enthusiast favorite from Alien Labs’ catalog, as it is truly an excellent cross for aligning your energy towards positive outcomes. It made us feel buzzy and creative, and the price tag didn’t crush that vibe at all.
Review: Lemonatti
We’ve heard the hype about Lemonatti since it was first released from the Connected stable a couple years ago and it is real. Connected has put serious elbow grease in to add invigorating & energizing genetics to their hybrids and select for those effects. That means that one of the market’s strongest producers isn’t leaving sativa seekers out to dry, and we appreciate that! Lemonatti is roughly what you’d expect from the name: sweet citrus gas and an effect that pairs perfectly with the fragrance, as we expect from high quality herb.
Lemonatti is a cross between (Gelonade x Biscotti) originally developed by Connected. When you first crack the bag, you’ll be met with the familiar lemonhead candy flavor but there’s a sweet gas note beyond the citrus that is textbook Biscotti. Most notably, this sample has us feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to take on the day (paired with a hefty cup of black coffee of course). This is a great strain for folks looking for uplifting effects and candy flavor.
Review: Bad Apple
Bad Apple is a cross between (Biscotti x Atomic Apple) and is Connected’s newest hype release. The grape red and neon green nugs we were given in this jar are, bar none, the prettiest nugs we’ve ever seen from production scale retail flower, which is due to how intact the trichomes are kept as well as the manicured trim job. As expected from one of the premier purveyors of quality cannabis in California, the joint we rolled of Bad Apple was smooth and burned with light ash and a resin ring. The smoked apple flavors translated to a potent eye-open effect that brings forth calm and euphoric vibes.
